1. The difference between precision bevel gears and spur gears lies in the shape and relationship with the shaft. Bevel gears are conical, while spur gears are originally cylindrical. Bevel gears transmit motion between two right-angled, intersecting shafts, while spur gears transmit motion between two parallel shafts.
2. The bevel gear is processed on a special gear planer. Of course, it can also be processed on a milling machine, but the size and shape of the teeth are not as accurate. Usually precision bevel gear machining requires a combined method, that is to say, advanced preliminary machining on a milling machine or horizontal milling machine, and then finishing on the machine tool for machining bevel gears.
3. In precision bevel gear machining, the processed blank should be placed on the mandrel, and the mandrel should be fastened on the indexing head to turn the axis of the indexing pivot into an angle equal to half of the conical angle of the blank. After the blank is installed, use a disc module milling cutter to mill the tooth groove to the full depth; at the same time, the milling cutter should meet the module requirements of the small radius of the milled gear, so that all the gear teeth are milled.
